Beth Barlet (01:08)
Hey everyone, if we haven’t already met, this is Beth Barlett and I am so excited to meet all of you and take this time to introduce myself. I actually cannot believe that this moment is finally here and man, it has been such an amazing, God gets all the glory journey and I cannot wait one day to share it all with you. And I cannot wait today to tell you all about my heart.

and the basis behind the Salted Podcast. First and foremost, I want to tell you a little bit about my everyday life and that I’m a devoted wife to my husband Jeremy and a mother to my sweet son Joshua and a precious little daughter Eden. We live in the charming low country of South Carolina and I have a passion for dolly-as, the mountains, running for fun, baking homemade bread and world travel.

I love me some Indian food and even though I love people and love speaking about the Lord, I definitely over the years have realized that I am an introvert and that I spent a lot of my free time in a quiet space by myself with coffee, a cozy blanket, always trying to find something new to read. But most importantly, I want to say that I am simply a girl saved by faith whose life has been turned upside down

but the love, mercy and grace of Jesus Christ. Although my heart’s desire is to please and glorify God in every way, I am still a sinner who unintentionally must rely on God’s grace from my heart and mind to be transformed into the image of Jesus every day. Even though I know I’m so far from perfect, the Lord is still helping me with my tendency toward perfectionism, pride, self-sufficiency, control,

as he continually tames my type A personality. And my friends and husband will tell you that when I commit to something that I am all in and that I will go the extra mile in your race to make sure that you will run higher and faster in yours. Now, as I begin to walk with you on your faith journey, I feel that I need to let you know a little bit about mine and my stories are real.

and my testimonies about God are 250 % true.

Over the past decade since giving my life to the Lord, I want you to know that you are not alone in all the things you’ve experienced with God. I have experienced what it’s like to be far and distant from the Lord, but also what it’s like to be overcome by the tangible love and amazing feeling that comes being in His presence. I’ve cried tears of joy with Him on the mountaintops, while also tears of anguish, longing, heartache, and pain during my time in the valley and the wilderness.

I know what it’s like at times to walk in doubt, fear and unbelief, and then in the next season, watch him perform supernatural miracles for me before my very eyes. I know what it’s like to struggle with identity, the spirit of rejection, and fully embracing our Heavenly Father’s love. I know how hard it is as a mom and with the busyness of life to make time to be in God’s Word and prayer, but also the amazing mercy and love of God.

by which he always draws me back intimately into his presence in the secret place.

I also know and have experienced how hard it is to walk the narrow path that leads to life, walking against the grain and the flesh and choosing the Holy Spirit and His conviction over popular culture within this world. I know what it looks like to walk in obedience, trusting in Him even when I don’t understand and things look dim. And I’ve felt what it’s like to be rejected for my faith and that God has also taught me first hand that we do not fight against flesh and blood.

that we are constantly at war with every principality of darkness in the kingdom of darkness and Satan the Prince of Air. I have witnessed that through God’s power the captives can be healed and set free. And in my own life by the sovereign power of God, I was delivered and set free from demonic oppression after 20 plus years of fighting anxiety, panic attacks, and fear.

Recently in faith, I stepped away from a successful 15 year medical career to focus on my home, writing, and dedicating my time to loving and raising my children for Christ. Little did I know, however, that alongside this decision, that the Lord was birthing a new ministry within me. This podcast is the culmination of a growing passion over the years to disciple women in the body of Christ, helping them experience the fullness of life

found in a sold out love for Jesus. Now to be completely honest, for the first three decades of my life, I was a nominal Christian who knew of God but never truly knew Him. I attended church every Sunday growing up and grew up in Sunday school. Yet I lived apart from God’s word for the rest of the week. Throughout most of my early life, I felt an emptiness inside of me.

trying to fill it with fleeting worldly promises that falsely advertise false satisfaction and fleeting joy. In my teen and college years, I walked in drunkenness, partying, promiscuity, and for years I was enslaved to the ways of this world, struggling with rebellion, the idolatry of success, materialism, and the approval of man, and even at one time started to dabble into yoga and Hinduism. But God…

God did not ever give up on me. He pursued me relentlessly and during one of the toughest seasons of my life, a friend’s simple invitation to a local church changed everything. I heard the gospel for the first time and realized it was what my heart had longed for and I radically that day surrendered my life wholeheartedly to Christ.

It has now been 10 years since my life was transformed by the grace and mercy of Jesus. I once believed that I was a good person in the eyes of the world, but through God’s pursuit, I discovered the truth, that I was a sinner in desperate need of a savior. Encountering God’s tangible power and presence changed my life forever. And out of my overflowing love and gratitude for Jesus, my passion now is to share God’s love and disciple those who want to follow Him.

and become the light of the world and the salt of the earth. And I constantly aim to glorify God in all I do while encouraging other women to do the same. My heart grieves for women who want to follow Jesus, but because of a lack of discipleship, they choose popularity over purity, compromise over Holy Spirit conviction, and are led by their emotions and opinions instead of the truth of God’s Word.

Those who are so attached to the things of this world and the pleasures of this life that they are unwilling to live for their next. Those who raise their hands wanting Jesus in their hearts but are never willing to count the cost of giving their lives to God under His Lordship. Who unknowingly are missing out on a life of blessing and fulfillment as they walk in a lukewarm nominal Christianity at best. My heart’s prayer is to see revival stir throughout the body of Christ in this final hour

for God’s daughters to wholeheartedly walk in a soul that loved for Jesus, those willing to sacrifice things of this world to have more of Him, and for those listening that you would experience and encounter the power of God in your life so that you can live life abundantly as in John 10.10.

Last week, my son saw my microphone standing in my room and asked what it was. I felt the Holy Spirit prompting me to tell him, mommy’s job now is to talk to people about Jesus. And those simple words were so profound to me and even as I speak them today, just a smile just overcomes my face. I get to tell as many people as I can about who Jesus is, what He has done, and His will for our lives.

And we need more than ever to talk about Jesus because there is a world desperately lost without him.

I promise to share my testimony and heart vulnerably through this podcast because as we observe the world around us, we can discern that we are living in the last days before Jesus’ return. And in light of this revelation, we must not lay idle or waste our days, but redeem them with hearts poised to seek the Lord’s will and steward our talents as we prepare ourselves as His beautiful and spotless bride. In a world where God’s truth has been perverted,

The gospel diluted and lines of discipleship blurred. I believe God has called me to boldly declare the truths of his gospel and equip you as my fellow sisters in Christ to walk worthy of your calling as followers of Jesus through complete authenticity, vulnerability, and love. But it is time for the Bride of Christ to passionately pursue a sold out relationship with our Savior and return to him as our first love.

We must arise above the lukewarm, nominal Christianity that has become rampant in the Western Church by surrendering fully to the Holy Spirit, obeying God’s commands, and pursuing holiness, righteousness, and selfless love. More than ever, we as women need to fully represent Jesus just as He came to represent the Father on this earth. We must understand our potency. If we compromise and conform to the ways of this world,

we will lose our saltiness and become ineffective. We need to choose holiness over hypocrisy, purity over popularity, and self-denial over self-indulgence. We must say yes again to the gospel, standing firm as catalytic agents of change so we can partner with Jesus to save souls. My passion is to equip the next generation of women to walk as vessels of honorable use, prepared for every good work knowing their true identity in Christ.

and the fullness of joy and life that comes with a heart fully submitted, sold out, and surrendered to God. Understanding that we as daughters of the Most High God are called to be bold, holy, obedient, spirit-led lionesses, workers approved by God, partnering with the Holy Spirit to mature and exhort the body of Christ while spreading the gospel and the knowledge of His love and kingdom.

Salted, the podcast, represents the culmination of the call God has placed on my life, driven by my overwhelming love and gratitude for Him and all He has done. The name for this podcast was derived from Mark 9, where Jesus tells His disciples that everyone on earth would be salted with fire for all eternity. This concept of being salted is precious to me because it was during a long, challenging season in the wilderness of barrenness and infertility that I not only found God,

but also encountered his power, presence, and unconditional love. This experience changed my life forever. It was during this time that he forged my faith, helped me believe in trust in who he is and what he has done. And I learned that he is not just a distant figure we meet in heaven, but a living, active presence who hears me, sees me, and communicates with me daily.

During this season, God miraculously healed me, delivered me, baptized me with the gift of tongues, opened my eyes to the prophetic, and saved my life. It was a time when all I wanted to do was scream to the rooftops that Jesus and the Holy Spirit were alive and real today.

And I believe a person is salted when by the power of the Holy Spirit, they are born again with a new heart and new desires. They make the decision, the deep conviction, to die to themselves and live wholeheartedly

to love, serve, worship, and glorify Jesus within the will of God. Just as salt was used to make animal sacrifices more pleasing to God in the Old Testament, we too are called to offer our lives as living sacrifices, fleeing from sin and living lives of purity, holiness, selflessness, and love. I choose this name for my podcast not only because of what it symbolizes in my life, but also because there must be a remnant of God’s people

radically devoted to Him who know their purpose, refuse to sway with the winds of culture, and are willing to die to self to have more of Christ. For those who know their purpose, there must be also clear guidance on how to grow in Christ-likeness, overcome sin, and walk out the fullness of their calling to salt the world.

Through this podcast, I pray my insights, combined with the power of God’s Word and the leading of His Spirit, will pierce, encourage, convict, and challenge your heart to live a life fully consecrated to Jesus. I hope each episode will stir revival through fresh fire and revelation, serving as a sharpened sword in the fight against lukewarm Christianity and the hypocrisy that dishonors God’s character and name.

Scripture in Revelation 12-11 tells us that we overcome by the power of Jesus’ blood and the word of our testimony. It would rob Jesus of his glory if I did not share my story of how he changed my life. While my story is unique, it is likely similar in many ways to yours.

You will learn a lot about me in each episode as I share real experiences of how God has powerfully revealed himself and transformed my life. I aim to testify to the power, goodness, and grace of the gospel of Jesus Christ so you can be encouraged in your walk. He is not just a fictional character, but the son of the one true God who is alive, real, and still does miracles today.

Knowing Jesus changes who we are and how we live. It compels us to take a look at our lives and learn about who we truly are and discover the fullness of joy and freedom only found in an intimate relationship with God.

This podcast was designed to fill in the blanks of discipleship as you seek to follow Jesus. As we come together to deepen our understanding of the gospel, I pray our time together will help you navigate your everyday decisions, circumstances, and understand how our smallest decisions and actions, as well as heart motivations, can either help or hinder you as you bring glory to God. Salted is a podcast.

for women who want to live for Jesus wholeheartedly, seek Him more diligently, experience Him more fully, and die to themselves more selflessly As salted women this generation, we were born for such a time as this. We must proclaim that there is more to life on this earth than maintaining a comfortable lifestyle and more to the gospel than just being forgiven of our sins.

We live in a time when it is difficult to navigate the world without becoming like it. The Lord is real and resisting temptation is not easy. We must be intentional and persevere. Deep in my heart, I have prayed and prayed that this podcast would ignite a fire within you, not just to burn but to combust for Jesus. If you listening have backs lit in, compromised or grown lukewarm,

I pray that God will use my words to draw you back wholeheartedly to Him, not only as your Lord and Savior, but as your first love. I desire to deepen your intimacy and hunger for God, instilling a greater desire to enter His presence and glory. Sisters, my desire is not only to encourage you, but also to challenge you in love. I want to urge you to walk in the fullness available to you in Christ Jesus,

to speak hard truths that many have started to shy away from or ignore. My goal, if needed, is to lift you out of complacency and compromise, reigniting a fire that burns brightly for our Lord. Not to tickle your ears, but to prepare and inspire you to walk in a manner worthy of the gospel, giving your life wholeheartedly to Him as a radical disciple, so that you too can experience the fullness of life that is only found in a deep intimate relationship with God.

I hope to help you reset your mind to an eternal biblical perspective, loosening yourself from the things of this world to embrace what awaits you in the Kingdom of Heaven. And I aim to awaken you from the slumber caused by lukewarm religion and the American pursuit of happiness.

urging you to rise out of comfort and apathy, pick up your cross, and bear the cost of discipleship as authentic followers of Christ. But most of all, I desire to be your friend. Throughout my walk with the Lord, I have been blessed with godly friends and mentors who have walked alongside me. I understand the importance of community and the value of having sisters in Christ who out of selfless love and fervor for Jesus,

sharpen one another’s faith through the power of the Holy Spirit. During some of the toughest seasons I’ve faced, I am grateful for the special women God sent to encourage, challenge, and urge me to hunger for more of the Kingdom of Heaven and stand firm in my faith through Jesus Christ. These women magnified Jesus within me, challenged me, and pulled me higher into God’s teaching me to believe in the impossible and seek more of God.

I believe that the Lord places the right people in our lives at the right time for specific purposes, whether to protect our God-given dreams, stir our faith, or keep us in line with His will.

And so today, I want to extend this same friendship to you. Won’t you come alongside me on the narrow road as I promise to offer you authentic love, wisdom, and encouragement on your journey. Be blessed. I cannot wait to see you here next time.
